This is a polyphonic noise theremin created with Max/MSP/Jitter utilizing sensor input from a Microsoft Kinect camera. Both the audio and video aspects of the piece are generated from various noise-generating objects within Max. The program can handle up to ten 'voices' (moving objects within the room), with pitch and volume directly corresponding with left/right and back/forward coordinates of objects detected.
This piece has been realized as an audio-visual installation in the 2012 SeeSound and Sonic Vigil in the Guest House in Cork, as well as in the 2012 Cork Midsummer Festival in Eat My Noise's A/Volution as an instrument.
