Students from Lokelani Intermediate School give tips on how to survive if faced by a shark. If a person is swimming and sees a shark he or she should leave the water in a calm manner so as to not attract the creature's attention. While a person is heading to shore, he or she should also keep his or her eye on the shark if possible, and if the shark is interested in you it will begin circling. If the shark attacks, hitting it in a sensitive area such as it's eye will cause it to let go. Although shark attacks don't happen too often, they do occur and one should always be prepared.
