Whether we are accompanying only ourselves on a deserted beach or completely surrounded by thousands of other fellow human beings, there exists a common emotional thread within our mind. Our focus is turned inward at the blink of an eye when our mind comes alive with conscious thought. "Expansiveness of Solitude" is an audio-visual piece focusing on the experience of solitude and the common feeling it invokes in all types of environments. It evokes the question, "are we perpetually alone?" Using found footage from various sources (I do not claim right to any footage used), this video encapsulates the jitter between cerebral bits. The video was edited and effected by me. The audio spectrum exemplifies the constant void with which we battle, filled with constant ghost chatter of aloneness when we lose someone dear to us. The audio is mostly composed of no-input mixing and variations of 60Hz cycle noise, mixed with edits of various vocal recordings. Together, they create one experience - the externalized embodiment of solitary confinement of the mind in which we imprison ourselves. This piece was inspired by the recent lost of a cherished loved one. In essence, this piece is more or less a cathartic tribute.
