As part of the refurbishment of the current brand centre Nissan’s experiential agency TRO approached Keyframe and JB3 with a brief to create a new animated character for the Nissan Innovation Centre.
The brief was to create an engaging character that would help guide and interact with the visitors through the exhibition space.
We designed a couple of options for the Robot host character – one approach was a cartoon character and the other a humanoid android.
Keyframe created 2D and 3D designs for Nissan to choose from.
It was decided to use the Andriod version for the character and from there a rig was created to fit the model.
The animation process was a combination of motion capture and keyframe workflow.
In total Keyframe created 10 different animation loops that are embedded through the exhibition space.
