This short film chronicles the decay of Carlslund, a so called "refugee complex" (temporary housing for imigrants awaiting asylum and such) in Upplands Väsby, Sweden. The Complex was shut down and later demolished around 2005-2006 to make way for new apartments. The Carlslund refugee complex comes with a troubled history. The papers often spoke of hunger strikes, mistreatment, and suicides. And then there were the stories of the children. It's said that unidentified men came to the complex at night, and obducted some of the small children who lived there, and that they were never heard from again. This was my first ever urban exploration and a project that will stay with me for a long time. It should be noted that the wrecking crew was already around when I went there so the a lot of the decay is obviously part of the demolishing plans. The footage was gathered over a course of almost 8 months so many locations were shot again in a new state of destruction.
