DAFT
1:01
A physical example of conceptual ideas relating to the vice technology has over Western culture.

Communication technology is an ever-increasing part of everyday life. We surround ourselves with headphones, smartphones, battery chargers and auxiliary cables. These technologies allow us to quickly communicate with others, though through mediated channels. Though we may feel stylish and hip with these new devices, we eventually become entangled, entranced, and engulfed in them. The messages we send are broken down and chopped up to the point where we lose the ability to see the person sending the message clearly. DAFT represents physical examples of these conceptual ideas, with the subject being caught in an endless loop of repetition. She simply cannot get past the technology in order to communicate effectively: she is doomed to become ensnared in the tech machinery as she tries to play off her suffocation.
