With one in ten Australians in need of food relief and country Victoria having few places to turn to, one organisation has stepped up to assist. FareShare, who cooks surplus food saved from landfill into healthy meals, have increased their capacity through a brand new kitchen which launched in April 2013. They are now sending out meals to rural areas and in this video see the journey from kitchen to plate, sourced and cooked in Melbourne then on the road to the Bendigo region.
The Aussie Farmers Foundation assisted them in their kitchen expansion. To learn more visit: AussieFarmersFoundation.org.au
