Music can be a powerful tool for young people living through adversity.

M-Lisada, a children's home in Kampala, Uganda, uses music as means to better a child's life.

On one level, children are learning to play music... a skill. But through the process of learning, they gain self-confidence, discipline, and most important, a sense of self-worth.

This video was shot over the course of a few short days in August, 2013. It would not have been possible without the help of Malika Quemerais, Segawa Bosco (Director & Founder of M-Lisada), Mboira Godfrey (Music Supervisor at M-Lisada), Ajambo Mary (Administrative Assistant at M-Lisada), Kawere Shafic (former M-Lisada resident), Uwase Lillian (current M-Lisada resident), and all the other residents and employees at M-Lisada who were helpful and gracious while I worked.
