The Dutch Hedwige polder is part of the Sigmaplan that will change the polder into an intertide landscape to prevent inundation of Antwerp and small villages behind this port in the Land van Waas.
At the moment the Flemish administration waits for permission to cut thousands of trees in the Hedwige polder and demolish all houses. The egalisation of the landscape is necessary to execute the Sigmaplan. At the moment a part of the landscape has been turned into a basin but the Hedwige polder still keeps her original appearance. But.. for how long?
