Young Professionals Diversity Vision Award Video [HD]
Rebecca Barnes is a financial advisor at northwestern mutual, but she’s full time in her philanthropy work as a Bluegrass Tomorrow board member and chair of the young professionals diversity council.
An alum of Leadership Lexington, she is also actively involved in the rotary club of lexington, the junior league, the lexington art league, the cardinal hill junior board, the toyota bluegrass miracle league and has recently become a founding member of 100 women.
An award winning producer, Kyle Lake is CEO of Prosper Media Group and creator of Done In 60 Seconds, a patented online technology. His work with nonprofit agencies such as the Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Center for Nonprofit Excellence and The Kentucky Philanthropy Initiative among many others, sparked the development of the kNOw MORE educational television series in 2010, illustrating what life would be like without non-profits in our community. The show, in its 3rd season currently airs on KET.
A closet foodie, in 2011, Kyle created the Food Amongst Friends dinner club encouraging Lexingtonians to “reinvent their social palettes”. He has served as board chair for the Explorium Children’s Museum, Family Counseling Service and the United Way’s Get On Board advisory council. He has also served on Commitees with IN2LEX, LYPA and Bluegrass Tomorrow. He was awarded LYPA’s Rising Star award in 2006.
Both Kyle and Rebecca have been instrumental in the development and implementation of numerous bluegrass tomorrow young professionals events, including Bluegrass 101, TEDX LEX, Lexington Idea Festival, and the Creative Cities Youth Summit.
