Steve Gaines shakes down his congregation, telling them once again that if they don't fork over 10% of their income - each and every one of them - that they are stealing from God, driving stolen cars, etc. etc.
And he masterfully throws in a new twist: "The imagery of stealing from God scares me."
In other words, he would be afraid if he was one of the low-lifes in his church that dares not to give 10%.
And of course he then brags about how he has ALWAYS tithed since he was a little boy.
And he tries to place limits on peoples' relationship with God: they can't be "intimate with" God, and then says:
"If you can't trust God with 10% of your money, are you really going to tell me that you can you trust him with your soul."
