You have been healed of leprosy. A leprosy far worse than that in the bible. It's the leprosy of the soul. It's called sin. By our sin and rebellion against God we have distanced ourselves from God and in Jesus Christ, in His death and resurrection....What does Paul say? You who were far away have now been what? Brought near. The distance between us and God has been closed through the Gospel of Christ. The distance between us and other people (He's the reconciler) has been closed. We who were once far off are now welcomed into God's family and into God's presence. And those of us who have disfigured ourselves with our sin, broken relationships, failed promises, wounded other people, been wounded by other people...all of the horrible emotional and psychological disfigurement that comes with sin, is healed by Jesus Christ. You're not defined by those things anymore. And all of the disgrace that you felt for every failure you have ever had is nailed to the cross so that now we boldly approach the throne of God. There's no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ. And you are not doomed to a slow and painful death. You are destined for an eternal blessed life! You have been healed of leprosy, and so have I! And the only question is, are we going to be thanks feeling, or are we going to be thanks giving?
