Bruce C. Solomon, the St. George Vet Center readjustment counselor, said that there is terrible failure rate in combat veterans' primary relationships. It is difficult to adjust into society's environment with protective, reactive behaviors resulting in estrangement and isolation. There are triggers of PTSD everywhere such as: amusement parks and all the noise or a child's school program with the lights out and crowds. Drug and alcohol abuse are another way to cope with the difficulties.
