On November 7, 2013, Fine Arts Lecture Series presented Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla. Allora and Calzadilla have been collaborating since 1995, exploring ideas of authorship, nationality, borders, democracy, and global society. They utilize sculpture, photography, video, performance, and sound to create metaphors and experiments that explore the relationship between an object and its meaning.
They have shown internationally, including representing the USA at the 2011 Venice Biennale, and participated in numerous residencies including PS1, and a DAAD residency. For more information, visit design.upenn.edu/calendar/allora-calzadilla.
