SYNOPSIS: Ragu, is a driving track released by Psycho Disco on the comp 'Hacking The Reality Myth' via Psy-Harmonics. It was created by virtual artists Shaolin Wooden Men (I know who they reeeeally are). Similarly to visual approach taken with the tracks Kondativita and Get Away (V02), the visual element in this piece is a concerted experiment in real time digital painting of 2 simultaneously mandalas done to the music - using DPaint software on an Amiga 1200 and 2000 computer genlocked together c1997. This Realtime Gorilla Paint Jam used BG strobing and partial fading into the strobe to see how the eyes persistence of vision would behave with (high) contrasting mandalas. Symmetrically, 6 & 12 sided mandalas were used in conjunction here. The interface of the software pops up intermittently (on purpose) to reveal mouse selection of color cycling palette selections etc. Other animation rate etc functions were realised with hotkeys. This was the first in a series of similar experiments.
