We walked along Michigan Avenue on Black Friday, 2009, to let people know that Dairyland Racetrack would be closing at the end of the year. This means the Chicago area was flooded with over 300 more greyhounds than usual.
The update is that all were quickly able to be placed in loving homes, thanks to some great exposure in the media.
Local groups like Greyhounds Only and the Greyhound Alliance provided food, shelter, and located permanent homes for these amazing dogs... yes, even silly ones dressed as presents.
