Soho House New York brought their music and arts series Satellite Nights to New York, which featured art installations by Josè Carlos Casado and culminated with a private live performance by MIA in celebration of the launch of her album, Matangi, for members and their invited guests. Satellite Nights is Soho House's offsite event series spotlighting the convergence of music and art from established and emerging artists.
Held at The 1896, a series of stages set in a turn-of-the-century building in Bushwick in Brooklyn, the event was held in partnership with Swatch, Corzo Tequila, Opening Ceremony and SPIN. Guests interacted with mixed media artist José Carlos Casado, whose collaboration with Swatch was showcased through an immersive projection experience of a virtual abstract forest, created in creative collaboration with MIA. Guests also enjoyed a lineup of back-to-back live DJ performances from Venus X & $hayne Oliver, Party Squad and Rotin.
SATELLITE NIGHTS is the third in a series of Soho House events that launched in LA in March 2013. The collaborations between both established and emerging artists build out a unique and truly original experience for Soho House members in new or undiscovered venues in pioneering, creative parts of the city.
