Bo's Place - Founded in 1990, Bo’s Place is a nonprofit bereavement center offering grief support
services for children, families and adults. Programs, provided free of charge and available
in English and Spanish, are based on the belief that sharing experiences with others in
grief helps individuals navigate the grief journey and move towards hope and healing.
Childrens Grief Awareness - Children who experience the death of a loved one often feel alone in their grief, like nobody understands what they are going through. As a community, we often lack a
clear understanding of the challenging tasks bereaved children face and do not know
how to assist them in their individual grief experience.
Children’s Grief Awareness Day is observed on the third Thursday in November to raise
awareness of the needs of grieving children. The educational “Life and Death … Let’s
Talk About It.” exhibit is designed to engage communities in this conversation, not just
one day a year, but every day and to give us the tools we need to support these children
and their families.
