An air check of my calling CQ CQ on the digital communications mode known as Olivia. The configuration is 32 tones on 1000 Hz bandwidth, on 20 meters.
The sound while I am transmitting is rather low; I had some difficulty in getting sound from the radio into the video. However, if you expand this video to full-screen, you can see what is happening.
There is a "waterfall" (the blue area at the bottom section of the software window) that shows the signals received in the audio bandwidth (the slice of sound from low frequency to high frequency, in the audio frequency range). This corresponds to the shortwave frequency on which the radio signals are being propagated worldwide. The tones you hear are part of this Olivia digital mode.
