"I. Aria" - by Alexander Kaluzhsky
'I.Aria' is an impressionistic exploration of the day in the life of a middle aged Russian American woman, Marina, as she comes to grips with the death of her mother, the dissolution of her family, and the recognition of her own mortality. The film follows her as she goes about her day at the Cobble Hill Health Center, working with elderly sick patients, while at the same time dealing with the specter of her own, recently deceased mother, and mourning father.
The filmmaker's real life mother acts in the lead role in this experimental, short form, narrative film.
