Clement Photography is a wetplate and tintype photo studio located in the creative heart of Northeast Portland.
I'm Giles, a photographer who has dabbled in everything from journalism to aerial photography and is presently concentrating on wetplate collodion photography. I use a camera built in 1905 and a lens created in 1849 to craft one-of-a-kind, magical images of silver and light. It's an imperfect process, as much science and luck as it is art. I love photographing people, capturing their faces, emotions and spirits with a timeless medium.
I use two sizes of cameras, an 8x10 and a 4x5. Both produce fantastic direct positive images directly onto glass or tin which can be taken home in about an hour. You receive the wetplate as well as a digitized copy which may be shared online. Prints are also available for purchase in sizes up to 20x24".
I also offer tintype sessions at events and can bring a portable darkroom to your location. Contact for event rates.
You may book a session online through the services link or pay in cash, check or credit card when you come to the studio.
