Have you ever wondered why our body processes liquids and solids separately? It designed a system for digestion that provides for the exit of solids one way, and liquids the other way. However, our toilet systems combine these together again, and use precious water to flush the waste away. A separating toilet has been developed, that only needs a three liter flush, which separates the liquids and the solids in a short swirl using the force of gravity. The solid matter dries out fast and can be used as compost, while the liquid is purified ready for reuse as fertiliser. With every flush, we can save water!
Tip/Trick - Having a locked off shot, and changing an element within the shot when filming, allows you to dissolve between these two (or more) shots in an interesting way to bring to life different elements of what would otherwise just be a static image.
