Participants were asked to sign a terms and conditions paper that described the aims of the experiment and the requirements the volunteers had to meet. The pretend experiment consisted in remembering the sounds that were made and the direction they came from in order to map out the sounds at the end.
Whilst blindfolded, participants are left to believe that they can hear the conductor of the experiment through the lapel microphone he wears and the headphones can pick the direction the sounds are coming from in order to reproduce them accurately.
The performance has been pre-recorded in the same room with the same props and setting in order to create the illusion. For a more accurate and immersive experience, please wear headphones whilst watching this video.
