With more than 16 inches of fresh snow this weekend, skiers and riders were thrilled with the conditions on Aspen Mountain for opening weekend. A storm last night brought ten inches to the mountain bringing the snow total for the season to nearly six feet to date. Aspen Mountain opened twelve days early with some of the best early season conditions seen in years.
Aspen Mountain will close tomorrow and will reopen daily on Saturday, November 23 along with Snowmass. Snowmass and Aspen Mountain were scheduled to open on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28.
Thanksgiving weekend will be packed with events including the Thanksjibbing rail jam at Snowmass Base Village on Friday, November 29 and the first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert of the season featuring Elephant Revival on Saturday, November 30 at the base of Aspen Mountain.
