In my research for this project, I found that being unable to use the London Tube map was a common problem for non-English speakers. The reasons include the small size of typeface, a large amount of information on a small map and difficult to see stations clearly. Consequently, I made a multifunctional London tube map myself to use with a video. In this multifunctional London tube map, there are three features: magnifying function, omission information and clearly marked stations. My research showed that my target audience is aged 45 to 70 and their eyesight is not good. So they need bigger size typeface in the tube map. In addition, this map is divided into four parts and the less important information can be turned off when it is not needed. Sometimes this audience group needs to plan a route by themselves and they need mark the stations in the tube map before taking the subway. This map also offers fluorescent stickers to mark stations.
