I mostly made these between paid jobs, mostly with no budgets — and some were actually commissions that were rejected for various reasons.
They are all completely DIY — and represent not just my evolution as a filmmaker, but also the evolution of digital web filmmaking over nearly 2 decades. The work is 100% independent and consistently innovative — narrative, animation, VFX, formal experimentations. Something new each time out — pushing the boundaries of both taste and technical ability.
You’ll see appearances by talent like Tilda Swinton, Sidney Lumet, Werner Herzog, Britt Robertson, and Paul Verhoeven, among others — often blurring the line between reality and fiction.
Although I began web filmmaking in 2004, and created 3 Mini-DV series prior to this collection, that early stuff needs remastering (and there’s 60 or so eps). So I'm starting here...
