The Southside Art League of Greenwood Indiana had their latest Quarterly members' meeting with member artist, Tom Slack presenting a demonstration on where to start when faced with a still life ready to be painted. I covered Tom's presentation in still photography and videos and combined some of it with added music. Equipment was a handheld Canon EOS Rebel T4I with a 18-135 STM lens. Lighting was mixed florescent combined with sunlight streaming through the surrounding windows. On board native sound with the live sound recorded by camera. I was very close to Tom during the recordings. The artist was using oilss and a very limited palette of colors. Tom stated that the art should not begin with shapes but with the lightest lights and the darkest darks (Highlights and Shadows). Shapes will be added at a latter point. The demo stops with a background and the lights and shadows.
Music is provided by Free Stock Music.com: 1- Acoustic-Indie Pop, 2- Crossing the Desert, 3- Exale. Plus 2 short pieces from Corel Video Studio X4.
