Monumenta musica Neerlandica.
Born in Brunswijk, in 1696 died in Amsterdam in 1765. His father (German) was Organist in Brunswijk and was his first teacher.
He studied in Hamburg, Vienna and Munich; worked at Stockholm and Bayreuth. He became organist of the Oude Kerk (Sweelinck's church). Was known for his improvisation talents. Composed Operas, cantatas and works for organ and harpsichord.

Working without a editorial department, is the cause of some mistakes sometimes. In the title there is this time the andante moderato and, although this is the 2nd sonata of my edition (Nederlandse Klaviermuziek uit de Barok, Musictype, Utrecht-NL), it is the 3rd of Hurlebusch's Opus 6.
