Fish Story was a participatory public art project held May 2013 in Memphis, TN., about how the lives of fish in the Mississippi River reflect human challenges in the Anthropocene era. Public statements made by the artist declared that during this time of climate change, over population, pollution and global warming, as fish go, (an indicator taxa) so do people. The Fish Story team members were, ecological artist Aviva Rahmani: www.ghostnets.com, Dr. James White, a Professor of Geological Sciences and a Fellow and the Director of the Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO: (instaar.colorado.edu/people/james-w-c-white/) and Dr. Eugene Turner, Distinguished Research Master and Professor, Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA: (http://www.oceanography.lsu.edu/index.php/people/faculty/eugene-turner/).
