I had the opportunity to meet with Alysse and Andy a handful of times before their big day. A few months back, I ran a contest for a free package upgrade. Alysse and Andy went absolutely nuts with the contest and far surpassed any expectation I had for participation. In order to convince their friends to partake on the contest, however, Andy promised that he would eat one habanero pepper for every 10 'likes' he received through the contest.
Nearly 800 'likes' later, Andy was due to eat 80 habanero peppers.
For the sake of Andy's health and sanity, we decided 80 might be a bit much - so he opted for only 30 or so. From that point forward, I knew that Andy was a man's man.
Over the last few months, I've had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with both Andy and Alysse. Their wedding will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the first wedding I filmed after the birth of our daughter. Having a daughter of your own certainly changes your perception of seeing a bride in white walk down the aisle - and Alysse looked absolutely gorgeous.
Everything about this wedding was natural and handmade. Andy cut and polished the wood centerpieces himself. Alysse spent countless hours collecting and decorating mason jars and arrangements. In every nook and cranny, this wedding was personalized. It was perfect.
Andy and Alysse - thank you. Thank you for allowing me to spend time with you, for trusting me with your story and for your friendship along the way.
