Experience an idyllic 7 minutes at the Woodstock School of Art, a not for profit fine art school in upstate New York's famed artist colony of Woodstock. Nestled at the base of Overlook Mountain, surrounded by 38 acres of pine forest, the WSA began its life as a National Youth Administration facility for teaching arts and crafts to rural youth. In 1947, the buildings became summer home to the Art Students League of New York, and in 1980, the fledgling Woodstock School of Art called the native bluestone and timber buildings home. Today, some 500 students in ages ranging from 10 - 80+ enjoy classes in painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. The WSA boasts one of the finest printmaking studios in the region and the spacious, north light studios are unrivaled.
