We’ve been working hard to get this right.

Circumstances preventing me from attending Steve’s memorial years ago and as someone who wrote many of his demo scripts for him, I never quite recovered.

If you knew the real Steve you loved him and we know this will hit close to home for many in the design community and Apple community at large. Those who were on his winning team had nothing but great things to say about him and at �.fm, we intend on carrying on that legacy and protecting his legacy from people who don’t know how to remain true to his spirit.

With Google losing $100bi in market cap to ChatGPT, we think this snarkiness would have been something he’d have been proud of after all the intellectual property that was stolen from the iPhone to build android.

We hope this brings you as much joy and as many tears as it did to us. With Jony Ive leaving and Evans Hankey to follow, the toxic culture at Apple needs to be addressed. We hope this will spark that discussion and revitalize the design community.

Much of Unicode was built at Apple and only Steve could have been responsible for maturing emoji domains and replacing “will AI replace designers?” debates with practical solutions.

On February 24th this year, Steve would have been 68.
