a meditative weather opera created by Chris Kallmyer
Weather Stations is a sonic investigation of wind, rain, and the lore surrounding our relationship with the weather. Audience will experience a series of overlapping installations that feature autotuned weather reports, resounding wind vanes, weather folklore, attempted forecasting, a houseplant under duress, and live Doppler radar. Expect to find large wind vanes triggering sounds on computers, copies of the great works of weather forecasting, and performances by both Chris Kallmyer and Andrew McIntosh. Humans have tried to predict the weather for millennia through observation and deduction and Chris Kallmyer is an artist that now lives in the foggiest neighborhood in San Francisco.
