Canadian pianist Megumi Masaki is a passionate advocate of new music. She is especially committed to integrating sound and image in live performance by the application of new technologies to expand how concert music is created, performed and received. Megumi has commissioned numerous piano, chamber and multimedia works and has premiered over 60 works worldwide. Megumi is recorded regularly for CBC and her work is supported by the Canada Council, Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Manitoba Arts Council, SSHRC and the Willi-Daume Prize. Megumi is a member of the interdisciplinary Noiseborder Ensemble, on faculty at the Casalmaggiore Festival Italy, and is Associate Professor of Piano and director of the New Music Ensemble and Festival at Brandon University.
