The first 40-minute stint and the Le Mans style start of the 2009 4-hour Jim Russell Enduro!

The start was very embarrassing for me. Qualified on pole, but didn't pull the ignition pin out all the way! Doh! We were back squarely in first place after about 20 minutes though. We kept the lead for the next two hours with solid, determined driving from Roger and Leighton.
Then, in the last 30 minutes of the race, the brake rotor sheared clean off the axle and nearly killed Leighton! The back-up kart died after a few slow laps, and we finally got Leighton into a good one, but the damage was done. We finished 3rd (of 4 Jim Russell class teams). The team's fastest lap of the day was a 55.1.
Special thanks to Becky of Jim Russell for being a great crew chief, to Scott Evans for being our team manager, and thanks to Jim Russell for giving us the opportunity! The GoPro endured (even though I forgot to film my second stint)!
