Northern Cyprus holiday(Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). The country is divided by two, the northern part is greek and the south part is turkish. There is a some sort of the border between those parts, sometimes it's just a green fabric that reminds people that there is a different part of the country. The border stands for the many long wars that has been in the past ravaging the country, even nowadays the ONZ troops are present there guarding the peace of the country. There are few demilitarized zones around the border too, most famous is Varosha at Famagusta, once a popular holiday place and now ghostly and abandoned by ordinary people abandoned place which reminds me a Prypec in Czernobyl without the sea of course . Fans of kebabs would be delighted there, the food is like one big kebab , meat is the main ingredient in their kitchen. Cyprians like very spicy food and they have to have a thick natural yoghurt added to the meals as well as yoghurt Ajran which is so good and I recommend it to anyone. The prices are ok, even the grumblers should not complain about it . We really liked the people, they are very nice and willing to help anyone, though they most of the times don't know english, it's not a problem because there is someone that speaks english around and you will be pointed to that person. I must say We had really good time, the mix of relax and the tours around the courty was spot on, the places we had seen are on the movie and pictures, few of them: Famagusta, Dystrykt Varosha, Nikozja( capitol), Kyrenia, Alagadi Turtle Beach, Karpaz, Golden Beach, Salamina.
Holidays in Cyprus is the entrance to another, fascinating history .
