It was a beautiful day in Rhode Island and just a stone's throw from the ocean, Alison was getting ready to step into her amazing dress. The sounds of the ocean, the misty air...it was like stepping into a dream. I was thrilled to be asked by Dan and Alison to photograph their wedding, and for the chance for me leave Vermont and travel to this beautiful part of the country. The last time I photographed a wedding near the ocean was at Kendra and Chris's wedding in the Dominican Republic. I met Dan and Alison last summer when I photographed their dear friend's Niraj and Natasha's wedding, which was a destination wedding in Vermont. Now, Niraj was one of Dan's groomsmen. Back to Alison's dress: it was an amazing Alvina Valenta from the Wedding Atelier in NYC, but even more stunning was Alison in it! The flowers were beautifully done by Rosanna's Flowers in Westerly, RI. As the girls prepared in Alison's family home by the beach, Dan and his groomsmen were getting ready nearby at the Shelter Harbor Inn, while enjoying 4 different kinds of delicious whiskey. They were ready to rock! Alison and Dan did a first look and their bride/groom photos on the beach; it was an emotional moment and so picturesque! Their ceremony took place in the cutest little church just a few hundred yards from the beach. Afterwards the wedding party strutted down to the beach for some photos. The timing couldn't have been better; the sunset was giving us a warm glowing beautiful light for some gorgeous images. At the nearby Weekapaug Golf Club the reception was starting and the wedding party traveled there in a super cool trolly....yet another first class touch to this fabulous day. Really, everything was top notch thanks to Jessica at The Savory Affair Event Planning & Design. She did a wonderful job of planning and facilitating the entire event from start to finish. The party was great. There were emotional speeches by family members, delicious food by the catering of the Weekapaug Golf Club, and great music by the Jason Liebman Trio. I had never seen an acoustic trio get so many people dancing all night....they were just as fun as a 10 piece wedding band! As the day turned to night, the stars came out, it was a warm, beautiful evening. Dan and Alison are such a great couple and I'm so glad to have shared in their wedding day. Thank you guys for the honor of photographing your wedding, it was my true pleasure and I hope we'll stay in touch!! You guys are welcome to come visit me in Vermont anytime:) Here are some highlights of the day, enjoy!
