This is my 'foley take' on Gary Rydstrom's animated Pixar short, 'Lifted'.
There were many fun challenges and creative solutions to problems...
~The spaceship (shouldn't be considered foley, but decided to do it anyway) was a 'thunder tube' toy with various DSP (such as lo-fi, sci-fi, bittersweet)
~The wooden creaks of the man trying to get out of the window was a pencil sticking between keys on an old, clunky keyboard.
~The alien's movement's were brought to life audibly by the expression within the creaky, office chair.
~The sounds of the man going through the tree is layers of cloth passes, a dead fern being squeezed, and a wad of old quarter-inch tape being handled.
~The wind mill was created with layers of a fork against a plate for the shrieky, higher frequencies and a bucket scraping against a rock.
Foley Engineering and Foley performance was a duel effort by myself and Eolyne Arnold. (linkedin.com/pub/eolyne-arnold/77/1b9/115)
