Welcome to St. Mark's Lutheran Church!
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mark's. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news about God's grace, love, and forgiveness to us through his Son, Jesus Christ.
Our congregation also operates a Lutheran school for students in pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. If you would like to learn more about our church or school, please contact one of our pastors, the principal, or another representative of our church or school. They would be happy to assist you.
Season of the Church Year:
The last four weeks of the church year are called the End Time season. As the name suggests, our thoughts during this season are primarily directed toward the end of the world: Christ's return and final judgment, heaven and hell, and Jesus' eternal reign as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Focus of Today's Service:
Just as New Year’s Eve is the holiday brings every calendar year to its conclusion, so Christ the King
Sunday is the holiday that brings every church year to its conclusion. Every church year reviews the
life and work of Jesus Christ for us—from his birth to his life, death, resurrection, ascension, and
promise to return at the end of time. Now that we have completed another annual review of the life
and work of Jesus, and now that we stand on the threshold of another church year, we conclude this
church year with a festive celebration of our eternal King and Savior, Jesus Christ.
