Episode #6 of the documentary series on Gerrard street East. From the outside looking in Jimmy's Place would come across as a dive bar, home to sorry souls who drink their pay cheques away. However, on closer inspection it is a hub for a specific demographic of the neighbourhood and a place where everybody knows your name. Catering to the local working class population, Jimmy's Place is like attending a family gathering. However, 2 new condos are set to be built right across the street, attracting a new crowd to the neighbourhood. These condos have forced local small businesses and residents, who drank at Jimmy's Place, to move. Can Jimmy's Place survive the current gentrification of the neighbourhood? Will have have to upgrade to accommodate the new residents moving in? Or will they be forced to closed just like the neighbouring businesses.
