In order to get the pecans from the trees into our sorting plants, we use three pieces of machinery (plus lots of helping hands!) to do the job. This is the third and final step in the fields. The harvester attaches to the tractor, and works with a system of belts, ladders, and blowers. After the sweeper has created nice rows of pecans, leaves, and sticks (and we've pulled out the sticks from the rows), the harvester sucks up the rows into a wagon, well, more like "transports." Watch the video to see Norris Harris in action on the harvester.
