The initial idea/theme around our proposal is based around the game Cluedo. The story flow will be in reverse, though the events will happen in real time as if the game were actually being played.
The characters would start off as everyday 21st century characters setting the game up, but then as the first dice role takes place the screen goes into a extreme close up on the dice, then as the camera comes back into focus and zooms out the real game begins. All the characters have changed and become the respective; i.e. Miss Scarlett, Mrs. White and Rev. Green. Now the game has come to life, the murder mystery takes form. In order to attract an audience, there will be an underlining plot twist, which will more than likely be a murder, or an affair between two characters. At no point during filming will the cast know who the killer is, each will be given their own list of character notes, so that they may create their own gestures and motions to make the character their own. With twists and turns in the storyline, the audience won’t get bored and neither will cast and crew.
Most of the feature will be shot in real time with different aspects showing time passing. We are making a point of inviting the audience to play along, so throughout the film the characters will have certain points where they purposefully, somehow, involve them: ’Breaking the fourth wall is speaking directly to the audience, including them in the situation’.
