As part of the Platform Program 2013, artists David Claerbout, Joana Hadjithomas and art critic Joana Hadjithomas had a discussion on Thursday, November 14 at the Grand Palais' Auditorium.
Their discussion about "Photography challenged by the world" approached the question relative to the representation of History. They discuss in particular about the documentary function of photography and about the possible ways to build imagination throughout architectural ruins, photographical archives or found images.
The Platform was organized around three lines corresponding to the state of thinking and practices that provoke debate in the world of art and photography today:
- Photography challenged by the world
- An encyclopedic fantasy
- Photography, Painting, limits?
