Public spaces in the Financial District:
Are they successful?
Do they make us feel comfortable, relaxed and engaged?
At the very least, do they even appear as accessible public spaces?
In answering this question, I decided to have a picnic at an iconic intersection of King and Bay in the Financial District of Toronto.
The Mobile Lawn Picnic idea relies on movable artificial turf that can be unrolled anywhere (that is a public space) in the city to provide an instant space for urbanites to temporarily pause their hectic lifestyle in the city, and relax and interact with each other.
