Phil Libin is the CEO of Evernote, one of the fastest growing cloud based companies in the world. In this video clip (from the documentary Innovation: Where Creativity and Technology Meet), he says, "You don't need to be the first person to think of something. In fact, in business at least, very rarely is the first company that thinks of something is the one who succeeds. Google wasn't the first search engine. Facebook wasn't the first social site. The break-out companies, the ones that are worth billions and billions of dollars, are usually not the first ones with an idea. They were the first ones to take that idea, and to execute it almost flawlessly. And the execution basically comes down to removing all of the complexity to enable more and more users in the mainstream to actually use your product."
