Memory Lane Movies

On March 12th, 2023 the Austin family, along with dozens of supporters, and friends did the Rett's Roost Polar Plunge at North Beach (The Wall) in Hampton, NH to raise awareness, and to help find a cure to DIPG and other childhood cancers. Brent and Jess Austin, and daughter Avery, lost their son and brother Evan to DIPG ( a rare brain cancer that only strikes children). Retts Roost is a sanctuary for families dealing with the unimaginable loss of a child.

Brent and Jess asked me once again to film this year's polar plunge ( I did one last year). The big difference between this year's event, and last year was, there was huge surf out there. I mean the ocean was roaring. There was a strong rip running, and the water was freezing. But that didn't stop the Austins, or their friends and family from jumping into the frigid North Atlantic waters.

Evan Austin is a lot like Molly Rowlee, in the fact that they both passed way before their time from childhood cancer, but more importantly, they remind me of each other because of the way the Seacoast community has rallied around their family, in their unwavering support for both families. I once said about Molly, that she will never be forgotten here on the Seacoast. That her memory and legacy will live on forever. The same is true for Evan Austin. The name SUPER EVAN AUSTIN will long be remembered here on the seacoast.

I hope and pray that someday, they will find a cure for DIPG, and that no other family will have to go through what the Austins and others have gone through.

Long live Evan Ryan Austin.
