Social Technologies is the product of a four week workshop at the department of Architecture & Design, Aalborg University.
72 students were asked to rethink the furnishing of selected urban spaces. In search for a performative object with the potential of catalyzing site-specific events the experiment was to create alternative urban scenarios that incorporated parametric design techniques both in fabrication and in a dynamic responsive lighting design.
The question raised: "is there social potentialities in the meeting between physical materials and the fluid materiality technology?"
The light and sensor programming was done in vvvv and the planar production was setup in grasshopper.
