The HL-House in Værkmestergade marks the entrance to a new urban area in Aarhus called The Central Workshops. The high-rise contains a hotel with 240 rooms, conference facilities for 1,000 people and office spaces.
The high-rise becomes a low-energy building class 2015 by integrating a solar cell panel on the entire southern facade and on parts of the roof. The CdTe-solar cells elegantly incorporate in the façade and have a low material- and energy consumption in the manufacturing.
The base and high-rise together form the building, which both functionally and architecturally contribute to the revitalisation of a very complex and dynamic area in the city.
