ASERL webinar: Rebecca Bryant, Director of Community for ORCID, explains that ORCID is an open, international, community-driven non-profit organization that aims to solve the name ambiguity problem in research and scholarly communications by providing a registry of persistent unique identifiers for individual researchers. Through embedding itself in key workflows, ORCID seeks to create links between ORCID, and other ID schemes, and research works. Adoption of ORCID by the research community enhances discovery and reporting processes by supporting systems interoperability.
