To Make This Up by Helena Franzén (trailer)

A vibrant duet by the Swedish choreographer Helena Franzén.

By letting the audience surround the stage Franzén provides a unique close encounter with the dancers Katarina Eriksson and Elizaveta Penkova. They form a tight interplay in the limited space, moving in and playing with circles. The choreography bears Franzén’s clear hallmark with its detailed and precise language of movement.

In To Make This Up she introduces composer Stefan Johansson as a new musical collaborator. In their work the music and the dance challenge each other, creating a nerve and density running through the dynamics of the moving body.
